Chapter 1 of Doki Doki! Tama-tan is out at Syuura.net ~! The following chapters will be a joint project with Futari wa Pretty Anon~

Will be posting chapter 10 raws and summary this weekend~ ahaha, I’m currently going through chapter 9 translating sfxs… sometimes it’s so difficult orz

It feels like ages since I read chapter 8 OTL But! When we last left Tama-tan she was on board Yoi’s ship, after he had just been super emo about how lonely he was, and asked Tama-tan not to leave him alone.

Yoi again asks Tama-tan to stay with him, and Tama-an doesn’t know what to do. She wants to go back but feels she can’t leave Yoi alone.

He then excuses himself to go and cool his head down, leaving Tama-tan confused.

When Yoi is alone he makes a creepy face, saying that ‘It went well’.

Back on the ground, Akane-kun is sorry about Tama-tan. He and Hyuuga-sensei have found Yoi’s ship. Akane-kun (being Akane-kun) just seems to be doing a lot of philosophical ‘I don’t know what my brother’s plan is’, ‘I must save her’, blah blah without actually doing anything.

Cue Nonnon’s appearance, who has been waiting for Akane-kun all along. After asking Hyuuga-sensei why he’s dressed like a station attendant, Nonnon helps Akane-kun get to the entrance of Yoi’s ship.

Once on board the ship Akane-kun suggest to Nonnon that they should split up; Akane-kun will search for his brother and Nonnon for Tama-tan. But if Nonnon needs help to use her cellphone as Hyuuga-sensei is waiting outside in a helicopter. Akane-kun wants to settle things with his brother, and Nonnon assures Akane-kun she will definitely find Tama-tan.

Back to Tama-tan who is wondering what to do. Her brilliant plan is to make everyone super good friends.

Just like that.
With this in mind Tama-tan goes off to find Yoi, but bumps into Nonnon before then. Tama-tan thanks Nonnon for her help , but first she has a favour to ask…

Cut back to Yoi who is about to go back to Tama-tan. Akane-kun is following him hoping that he will lead him back to Tama-tan. Yoi says that Tama-tan’s magic has already worn off, and reveals that it only alters a person’s heart for a few hours. Even though he doesn’t really understand Tama-tan herself, he wants to be able to use her somehow in order to get to Akane.

As he approaches a door Akane-kun jumps out and puts a blade to Yoi’s throat. Akane-kun tells Yoi he’s arresting him for treason; until someone unseen stabs Akane-kun from behind.

Yoi tells Akane-kun he’s in his way, and orders the unknown person to lock him up. As this is happening Tama-tan arrives.

She asks Yoi is he can become friends with Akane-kun. Yoi replies that he can’t, but Tama-tan persists saying that they should all become friends so that Yoi won’t be lonely anymore.

Yoi tells him that it’s useless, and Tama-tan then sees the injured Akane-kun. Yoi then proceeds to say that he hates Tama-tan, that her overly sweet naivity makes him sick and Tama-tan starts crying, as Yoi orders Tama-tan locked up too.

Tama-tan then uses her Love Magic saying ‘Oniisan!! Become good friends…!!’ which instead makes Yoi feel lonely. While Yoi is bent over crying Tama -tan and co make a run for it, leaving Yoi depressed and realising he’s been hit with Love Magic again.

This is a really short chapter (not even 25 pages!) But it seems like it’s just wrapping up from last month’s chapter, so hopefully a new development will begin next issue.

Akane-kun is again asking Tama-tan to use her Love Magic on him, and eventually she shouts out that she can’t. Tama-tan is worried that a similar thing will happen with Yoi-oniisan, and that Akane-kun will propose to her. Akane-kun seems very depressed that he can’t even help this way, as he feels he as little control due to the fact that the raising of the Moon Gods is left to the Lunar Ladies; he can only do a little.

Tama-tan thinks back to the proposal, thinks that it will just be too embarrassing and runs away. Leaving Akane-kun all depressed and shota-looking.

The next day Tama-tan is talking to Nya-chan and Nonnon about what happened with Akane-kun. Nonnon wonders why Tama-tan didn’t act, while Nya-chan thinks a girl’s confession is like an amazing bento; it’s not easy to make.

Miharu-chan then butts in calling Tama-tan an idiot, wondering why she didn’t turn on the girlie charm and say something like ‘I’m so glad I can rely on you’ and then use Love Magic. But Miharu-chan makes a valid point, saying that maybe Tama-tan hurt Akane-kun’s feelings by rejecting his offer of help.

That night Tama-tan apologises to Akane-kun, who in turns says he should be the one apologising as he thinks he’s useless. Tama-tan then honestly tells Akane-kun why she didn’t want to use Love Magic; that she didn’t want something similar to what happened with Yoi to happen, and that she doesn’t want to use Akane-kun as a lab rat.

Hapy then smiles and laughs (I think o_o) And Akane-kun is happy as he states that this is another ‘Evolution’ caused by Tama-tan’s power. Tama-tan tells Akane-kun that it’s because he helped her, and also tries out Miharu-chan’s cutesy phrase that she suggested earlier.

Akane-kun blushes and is left speechless as fireworks go off. Nonnon and Nya-chan call out to Tama-tan to come watch the fireworks, and Tama-tan wonders about the memories of this summer.

The CD is narrated by Tama-tan (voiced by Momoko Saitou) so it’s a mixture of spoken word (A Q&A plus opening and ending tracks) and music.

There will be more colour artwork this month as there was a Doki Doki! Tama-tan coloured poster in this month’s Nakayoshi, I will be scanning it and photoshopping it at some point too.

Ah, I’ve been kind of busy this last week so I haven’t had time to translate Tama-tan chapter 7 yet, but here’s what I’m woking on (and will be posted up on the blog before August is out)

In addition there’s another Nakayoshi event where you can pick up a Tama-tan tote bag. And by pick up a tote bag I mean please get me one if you happen to be in Tokyo and just happen to go :’D There’s some cute Shugo Chara! merchandise too.

Anyway~! On to the summary…

After the conclusion of last month’s chapter Tama-tan and co go to the beach. However Akane-kun tells them they are not here to play, but to have special lectures on the Moon Gods and the Lunar Ladies. Nonnon and Tama-tan aren’t very happy about this, and are whispering about what happened with Yoi while Akane-kun gives a lecture. Nonnon wonders if Tama-tan can use her Love Magic on Akane-kun to make him fall in love with her, Tama-tan is understandably unsure about the idea. Akane-kun catches them whispering and makes them do 30 push-ups, but after this they are free to play.

They head into the sea, where Miharu makes a scathing comment about Tama-tan’s middle school swimsuit (yes, she really does wear a middle school swimsuit, oh Koge Donbo*, really? :’D) claiming that real girls should wear sexy swimsuits. Nonnon soon shuts Miharu up with her shuriken throwing skills, slicing away Miharu’s bikini straps.

At the camp Akane-kun and Hyuuga-sensei are preparing dinner. Akane-kun is lamenting that he can’t even do things like this, but says that he wants to do everything for the Lunar Ladies, even menial things like cooking. Tama-tan, Nonnon and Nya-chan are watching from the bushes. Nonnon urges Tama-tan to use her Love Magic while Akane-kun is in a daze. Tama-tan tries but misses. She really wants Akane-kun to like her, but wonders whether doing it by magic is right.

Akane-kun then cuts his finger whilst slicing onions, and Tama-tan runs over with a plaster. Tama-tan tells Akane-kun she will help him with the curry, and Akane-kun remarks that he was trying to make dumplings :’D Hyuuga-sensei turns up with Coffee milk as the special ingredient, and as everyone is eating Tama-tan is writing on her blog.

Later on while Tama-tan is looking at her Love Magic Baton, she spots Akane-kun out on the beach and goes to join him. It’s during this conversation we find out more about Akane-kun and Yoi’s past. Akane-kun says that on his world royalty have snow white ears, and because his brother had black ears he was shunned. His mother abandoned him and Akane-kun was born from a new queen. His brother became an omen of misfortune as after his birth several unfortunate events happened within the royal family.

Tama-tan says that Akane and his brother should make up, that families fighting is just too sad. Akane-kun replies that he can’t. That Yoi is still an enemy of the family, and it doesn’t change the fact that he came to Earth in order to cause trouble.

After this conversation Akane spots Tama-tan’s Love Magic Baton and wonders why she has it. Tama-tan admits she still doesn’t understand how Love Magic works as she hasn’t had anyone to test it on. Akane-kun says it’s fine if Tama-tan wants to test it out on him, the chapter ends with Akane-kun urging Tama-tan to try out her Love Magic on him.

In the meantime, Nonnon starts her own plan to search for the ‘Black Bunny Ears boy’ and assembles her family clan of Ninjas to help. Nonnon tells them to find a person with Black Bunny ears, and here are what her super ninja household brings back:

So Nonnon’s ninja clan being full of win/and/or/fail yields no results, and Nya-chan wonders if she can do anything, since she has such a wide fanbase who can surely look for Hapy! She calls her manager who reports that on the next fanclub report they’ll put the word out. Surely with Elle’s army of fans they can find Hapy?

Akane-kun then leaves, with Tama-tan following, apologizing because it was her irresponsibility that got them into this. Akane-kun replies it’s not her fault, and earlier when he was talking about his brother when he said ‘a troublesome person’. Glad that Akane-kun isn’t angry with her, Tama-tan is energized and goes to look with Akane-kun.

They return to his spaceship, where one of Akane’s officers reports a small spaceship landed in the public plaza.

Cut to Yoi (we’ll call him this for now) who tells Hapy (Well, he is talking to himself really) that Hapy shouldn’t worry as soon he’ll have a new Lunar Lady, and that it’s Akane’s turn to taste humiliation.

Akane-kun and Tama-tan (in henshin gear) then bust in, and Yoi tells Akane how he will elect a new Lunar Lady for the Moon God. Tamatan is upset about the idea of losing Hapy, and tries to use her Love Magic (even though she doesn’t understand how it works)

The results of Tama-tans ‘Koi Mahou’ is that Hapy’s thoughts and feelings of Tama-tan are forced in Yoi’s head, and the results are….

leading to…

He gives Tama-tan Hapy back, and says that he will come for Tama-tan again! Tama-tan is left confused about what will happen to her, and Akane-kun wonders what his brother will do next.

The chapter starts with Akane-kun approaching Tama-tan as… she wanted to speak to him about something. Of course what Tama-tan wants to ask is whether Akane-kun is BunnyEars-kun from 7 years ago, but because Akane-kun has asked her so suddenly she just ends up telling him his clothes looks super ★different. Akane-kun seems a bit put out by this.

In the Lunar Lady class today then Akane-kun tells them that they will be learning about the ecology of the Moon Gods. He states that it is important that the Moon Gods always live with the Lunar Ladies, as the Moon Gods grow by absorbing the experiences of the Lunar Lady. Because of that, it’s important to think about what kind of image you have an how this will reflect on the Moon Gods: even though they all look similar now, in time they will develop their own distinct looks because of the personality of the Lunar Lady.

Nonnon wants her Moon God to be cool, Nya-chan wants her Moon God to be cute, and Miharu wants her Moon God to be…. a little sexy devil :’D :’D For real. When it comes to Tama-tan’s turn she’s not really sure what she wants her Moon God to be and hesitates, Akane-kun tells her she must decide firmly first, and then they take a recess.

During the break Akane-kun asks Tama-tan if he can meet her after school, and Tama-tan is certain he’s asking her out on a date.

At home Tama-tan is trying to decide what to wear, and finally decides on a dress her Papa brought her last Sunday (so he is still around) as Tama-tan finishes up a UFO lands on her roof (again) and it’s Akane-kun.

Akane-kun has turned up wearing the boys uniform from Tama-tan’s school, and wants to know Tama-tan’s opinion as it would be embarrassing to be seen by another Moon Person.

He has also come to give Tama-tan a warning about a person, the person being his brother. But, at the word ‘brother’, Tama-tan stops listening and tells Akane-kun how nice it must be to have a brother; since she has no Mama or siblings, she thinks it must be nice to have a big family. With this she decides that he image for Hapy will be that he/she/it can become part of Tama-tan’s family, like a sibling. At this point it seems that Tama-tan has completely forgotten about the fact that Akane-kun was warning her about his brother.

As Akane-kun leaves Tama-tan tells him the clothes look very fitting on him, and that he looks super ★moe moe :’D To which Akane-kun, in super moe moe style, tells Tama-tan her clothes look nice on her too. Leaving her super happy that she got a compliment from Akane-kun.

As Tama-tan is going to school the next day, she meets Akane’s brother at the entrance, he introduces himself as Tsukiyoino Miko. He tells Tama-tan that Akane-kun has asked him to take Tama-tan’s Moon God for a little while. Tama-tan reluctantly hands Hapy over, as she believes Akane-kun asked for it. Yoi leaves with Tama-tan’s Moon God.

In class Akane-kun asks Tama-tan where her Moon God is, and she replies that she gave it to a boy with black bunny ears, as he was Akane-kun’s brother.

Akane-kun then rushes out of the class, with Tama-tan behind. Akane tells Tama-tan that his brother is his enemy, and may even try to kill the Moon Gods in order to get in his way. The chapter ends with Tama-tan following Akane-kun, hoping her Moon God is safe.

The third chapter of DokiDoki! Tama-tan starts out with Tama-tan in her house talking about how Nonnon and Nya-chan left comments on Tama-tan’s Lunar Lady blog, all three of them wonder if Akane-kun really is Tama-tan’s BunnyEars-kun from 7 years ago.

Tama-tan’s happy spell turns sour when she receives a nasty comment from Miharu-chan, who accuses Tama-tan of trying to stand in the way between her and Akane-kun. Miharu tells Tama-tan that Akane-kun would never fall for a girl like Tama-tan, and that she should just give up.

Tama-tan is worried about being pitted against the school’s number one devil, and burns the onabe that night, having to stay up and clean the kitchen.

On the way to school she meets Akane-kun, and casually asks him what type of girl he likes. Akane-kun harshly replies he has no interest in girls from Earth, leaving Tama-tan shocked.

When she arrives at class they are told today is the naming of the Moon Gods, however Tama-tan has completely forgotten about it. Akane-kun gets angry as, on top of being late, Tama-tan has forgotten the important task of naming her Moon God. He leaves in an angry huff saying he’s going back to his ship for today :’D Miharu follows, saying she will apologise on Tama-tan’s behalf.

Nonnon explains to Hyuuga-sensei that Tama-tan has to take care of all the housework by herself, and that Miharu left the horrible comment, which is why she forgot to name her Moon God. Nya-chan then turns up; she’s being working all morning which is why she’s late. Tama-tan feels bad as everyone else is busy too, but it’s only her who forgot the task.

Nya-chan then reveals that she too hasn’t named her Moon God, to which Nonnon suggests that they all think of names for their Moon Gods together.

Back to Akane-kun, who meets another Moon Person with black bunny ears, we learn that he is Akane-kun’s older brother. He tells Akane-kun that as a member of the Sadaijin household he has been sent to Earth on a mission from their father. This ‘Sadaijin’ was a kind of official in the Nara and Heian periods, but it’s also worth noting that even though he’s the older brother, Akane-kun is still first in line to the throne.

He tells Akane-kun that maybe the Lunar Ladies are afraid of him because of his cold outward appearance, and that it would be problematic if he can’t get the Lunar Ladies to co-operate. He leaves Akane-kun, telling him to do his best, as much as he can.

Tama-tan then finds Akane-kun apologising for her thoughtlessness, and claims that now she has a name for her Moon God. Akane-kun apologises for his abrupt manner before, and says there is a special place in his heart for Earth girls.

With this, the naming ceremony begins. Nonnon is naming her Moon God Fuuma after her ninja household. Nya-chan is calling her Moon God, Soiree [soware], as she made her debut at a Lady’s Soiree. Tama-tan calls her Moon God Hapy, because she wants to share the happy feels she has with everyone.

They all transform into their hidden forms, and the names of the Moon Gods are etched onto white cards. Akane-kun explains that this transform is the Evolution, and through many evolutions they can become the Moon Princess (I think that’s how it works)

The chapter ends with Akane-kun wondering what his brother’s objections on Earth are.

It sure was a long chapter just for naming a Moon God~ But we get to meet Akane-kun’s brother, who will play an important part in the next chapter :D
