Koge Donbo’s new manga, DokiDoki Tama-tan, premiered in February’s Nakayoshi.
If you didn’t like Kamichama Karin, then don’t even bother with Tama-tan: the storyline is quite frankly even more outlandish and ridiculous.
However it is super ★ cute and has Koge Donbo’s sense of humour all over it. This summary is probably going to be super ★ long, as the first chapter was 50 pages and had quite a lot of plot packed into it.
Proper scanlations will be up (syuura is working on them c: ) but until they’re released I present to you the raws and what’s happening during chapter 1~
If you don’t want to know what happens in the story, then don’t read any further xD xD
The story starts with a flashback, Tama-tan is being given a strange charm by a boy with bunny ears, who promises to come back one day. Fast forward seven years later and we meet Tama-tan, and her two classmates Nya-chan and Nonnon. They’re discussing the famous idol Elle-chan when out of nowhere, a flying saucer appears and Tama-tan briefly sees in the window of the ship a boy with bunny ears. She runs off to where the UFO has landed, leaving Nya-chan and Nonnon behind.
Peeping through the bushes, Tama-tan sees the boy with bunny ears talking to a ball-shaped creature on his shoulder (Called a Moon God) the boy – Akane - has come to Earth to find the Moon Princess. Tama-tan is shocked because he looks just liked her BunnyEars-kun from seven years ago. The boy goes back into his space ship, and Tama-tan is overjoyed as she believes her BunnyEars-kun has come back to fulfill his promise.
So that the plot makes some kind of sense in relation to reality, we then see Akane-kun talking to (whom I think is) the principal of Tama-tan’s school, informing him that he should have been contacted by NASA; the situation is urgent and he must find the the Moon Princess by first finding the Moon Princess candidates – the Lunar Ladies.
The next day at school Tama-tan is telling Nonnon and Nya-chan about how her love has come back to her, when she is rudely interrupted by Miharu-chan, whom Nonnon calls a ‘ぶりっ子’ meaning in this context a girl who is cute with the boys but mean to the girls.
The class begins and Hyuuga-sensei, in a rather blunt fashion, introduces ‘The alien Tsukiakaneno Miko from the Moon!’ and it’s Akane from before. For Tama-tan, things go downhill from here.
She blurts out ‘BunnyEars-kun’ which Akane finds very offensive, and after much misunderstanding, Akane-kun reveals 3 Moon Gods. The Moon Gods will choose the Lunar Ladies from the girls in Tama-tan’s class, who in turn could be the Moon Princess. They will find the Moon Princess through a… process… called ‘Evolution’ in which the chosen Lunar Ladies will raise the Moon Gods and reveal their powers.
However, in order to see if they will be chosen by the Moon Gods, they first must go through a (lol magical) door and answer a question. When it’s Tama-tan’s turn to go through she doesn’t hear her question, as it gets cut off by a loud noise. She appears back in the classroom, upset that she can’t share her experience with the other girls in the class, who all heard and answered their questions.
When the time comes for the three Moon Gods to select the Lunar Ladies; Tama-tan is not chosen, instead her two best friends Nya-chan and Nonnon are chosen, as well as Miharu-chan. To start with Tama-tan feels dejected, but in true mahoushoujo style she cheers her friends on and is happy for them. But she soon finds out that because her friends were chosen as Lunar Ladies, it means she can no longer speak with them and they will be moved the a special Lunar Lady class.
She becomes sad again, but her tears cause the charm/strap to glow, and from this another Moon God appears, making Tama-tan the fourth Lunar Lady, and she can now join her friends in the special Lunar Lady class.
Wow! That was a lot =_=; The premise of ‘Evolution’ is slightly confusing, but it basically means that they have to raise the strange odango-like blobs; as the story goes on more about the ‘Evolution’ process is reveal. At the moment this is the main part of the story; raising the Moon Gods through the ‘Evolution’.
Also, the strap that Tama-tan has also has a ring which looks suspiciously like the one Karin has in Kamichama Karin, as the plot progresses there will be more KCK crossovers as well x3

oh my gosh, thank you so much for the summary~! </3
thanks very much
Omg
Doki Doki Tama-Tan compared to Kamichama Karn (Chu) is quite the same! They both kinda look alike, so kawaii! With Koge Donbo, it works!
No really, I mean, Tamma-Tan and Karin are quite the same! The are both so funny and cute. Same rings! And it also has to do with this god thing, and BunnyEars! And ‘Evalution’. (Kazune and Karin does the “Evolution of Love” Lol)
Doki Doki Tama-Tan, Kamichama Karin (Chu), Pita Ten all has to do with gods and stuff. Kawaii!
In the anime world, Koge Donbo works!
BTW: I know what Doki Doki Tama-Tan means, and Pita Ten, but what does Kamichama Karin mean?? Just the Kamichama part.
Does it mean ‘God’ or something?
Tama-Tan is so interesting! But Im not finished reading Kamichama Karin Chu on http://www.onemanga.com. I also wanna watch KCKC too! AKA: Kamichama Karin Chu.
OI! Magical Usuami Girl! I need the manga!!
:3 :3 :3 Yours, Zesaika!
@Zesaika: Kamichama Karin is a kind of pun on ‘Kamisama’ – which means God. So ‘Kamichama’ is a kind of cute/childish way of saying it, so it kind of means ‘God Child Karin’. Pita-Ten is also a pun, it kind of means ‘Clinging Angel’ From ‘Pitatto’ for clinging, and ‘Tenshi’ for the Ten.
Doki Doki! Tama-tan is the Magical Usamimi Girl manga -Tama-tan was originally called ‘The Magical Usamimi Girl’ when the models, CD and phonecard were released before the manga.
Yes there is definitely a connection between Kamichama Karin and Doki Doki! Tama-tan, when more chapters are released, this will become more apparent.
erghhhhhhhh!!!!! where can i READ THIS MANGA
